Do you want to become a certified diver, or just discover what scuba is all about? If you’ve got a busy schedule yet dream of becoming a certified diver, then a Discover Scuba Diving session might just be right for you. This requires less time covering only a short theoretical introduction to Scuba diving, a pool session followed by a fun dive to a maximum depth of 12 meters (40 ft.). The DSD is a great way getting yourself a brief introduction to the world of Scuba diving and can be done in a day.

The first step is to sign up. We will go through the paperwork and ensure that you are medically fit for diving. Anyone who is generally healthy can scuba dive but if in doubt, please let us know. You will receive a brief theoretical session covering the basics of Scuba diving to give you a better understanding of the elements and how your body reacts etc. We will check the equipment sizes for you and the next step is to get wet! Depending on your experience we will practice some basic scuba diving skills in either the pool, or very shallow, calm waters off the beach.

Once this is done it’s now time for our Instructor to show you around the dive site where you can meet with all those incredible fish and marine life. Our Instructor will guide you through the dive, ensuring you are safe and comfortable. Once you have finished your dives the Instructor will sign your logbook – remember that Discover Scuba Diving can be credited towards your Open Water Course in case you decide to continue with your dive training.

A good warm-up for the Open Water Diver Course. As a Discover Scuba Diving participant you are qualified to:

  • Dive under the direct supervision of a certified Divemaster, Assistant Instructor or Instructor to a maximum depth of 12 meters (40 ft.).
  • Obtain air fills, rent or purchase scuba gear and participate in other diving activities as long as they meet the required supervision.
  • Continue your dive training and complete the Open Water Diver certification.
